Flash Mobbing

Groups of people gathering together, unless you go in a group to the venue of a flash mob, the chances are high that you won't know any of the other participants.

A large group gathering together in the organised place, and performing an entirely legal act.

Performance Arts

I have also looked at Perfomance Arts.

These are pretty much all visual performaces that can be interpreted as art in some way.

A lot of these things are stuff that many people sit at home watching, and generalise them with the simplest of comments. Doing this without applying personal thought to what the director and/or creator may be trying to portray.

Examples of performance Arts are:

- Dancing
- Skateboarding
- General Acting
- Music Videos

Any pieces of moving image really that can be portrayed as art.

Below are a few examlpes that I like.

YEAH RIGHT! A Girl Skateboard Company Movie.
This is a phat skate vid! The parts I particulary like for performance art are the pink skateboard and invisible skateboard sections.

Chemical Brothers, Let Forever Be
Can be confusing to get your head around what is going on. I think this is fantastic though. Take a look and tell me what you think.

A great director to look at for fantastic examples is Spike Jonze.
Take a look at hos work on www.youtube.com !!

Watch them, post comments, tell me what you think

New Media Platforms

Today I have gandered at New Media Platforms.

This is all around us in our everyday life and you probably don't realise it.

New media platforms are the everyday things we use that are the new advances in media technology.

Examples of these are:

- mp3/4 players
- DVD
- Blu Ray/HD

Basically, all New Media Platforms are, are new age digital media that have developed over the years that we use today.
Keeping the original performance of the old media, but just enhancing it for today's new age of technology.

Short Skills - Throwies

Gotta create, "Throwies". Reusable graffiti, that doesn't damage the environment.
The four things needed to create throwies:

- An LED light
- A battery
- A magnet
- Tape

Obviously, the more of these you buy, the more throwies can be created, and the bigger they can be.

Sounds awesome!!

They can be used to create any form of visual art that you like, and as said above, they can be reused! This is of course as long as you don't throw them onto a moving vehicle, e.g. a tram, lorry, or car. In this case you'll obviously lose them, but it'll make a pretty cool piece of moving art!

Making graffiti out of LEDs and displaying them in different spots will be nice!

Gonna start thinking of designs and stuff!

More details about this, in a future blog
